Over the last few weeks I’ve been sharing a lot about Meta Andromeda. What changed. What it’s rewarding. And what I’m seeing behind the scenes in real ad accounts. You can read those publications here.
We’re forgetting about existing customers.
The latest Meta updates, especially Advance+ campaigns, have created the illusion that growth comes from going wider. All ages. All genders. Broad targeting. Sometimes sales do come in. But here’s what’s actually happening. 🥺
We’re forgetting about existing customers. Most of these campaigns are designed to acquire new customers, not bring past buyers back.
Remember abandoned cart ads? People who viewed products + Added to cart, but didn’t purchase? That option is gone.
Now we’re told to trust Advance+ to figure it out. Or to rely entirely on email to do the heavy lifting. What I’m seeing instead is accounts relying heavily on one-time buyers.
That’s not wrong. But it is risky.
What happens if your ad account gets hacked? If your page gets shut down?
If performance dips because bots flood the platform? They already are.
When we use social media to advertise, we’re renting attention. We don’t own it.
I believe in paid ads. I always have. But I don’t believe in building a business that depends on one lever. The brands that last make it easy for people to come back.
So let’s talk about how to do that.
3 Strategies to Bring Existing Customers Back

1. Paid ads
Upload your existing customer list into Meta as a custom audience.
When you build a campaign, you can include that audience manually. Even with Advance+.
One important step. Uncheck the “your suggestion” box so Meta doesn’t override your intent.

2. Email marketing
This can be done as a flow or a campaign. If you don’t have a win-back automation, set one up. This is a must!
If you do, run a simple campaign to customers who haven’t purchased in the last 90 days. A small incentive can help, but the message matters more than the discount.
This isn’t about pushing. It’s about reopening the conversation.
3. Manual outreach
I tested this for 90 days. It works. If ads and email aren’t enough, or if your list is small, reach out manually.
People want connection right now. Real connection. Something as simple as:
“Hey (FIRST NAME) we’ve missed you at (BUSINESS NAME) Just wanted to check in and let you know we’ve added a few new things I think you’d love.”
No pressure. No funnel. Just human.
That’s how trust is rebuilt. That’s how businesses stop relying on one-time buyers.
